Storyboard feedback
In the feedback we were given for our storyboard last week, the main concerns were that a) too much thought went into making nice narratives with relatively complex characters and stories, and not enough into making a simple easy to follow animation, or b) the shots were not well enough thought through and became confusing - visually or otherwise. I'm pretty sure I'm guilty of both of these in mine.
First critique is that my storyboard is not detailed enough, showing only one frame and movement from each shot where it should chronicle each movement or change, which doesn't explain to the animators what they're supposed to be animating. It therefore reads like a comic more than a storyboard. Secondly, my story is way too complex, with lots of changes in setting and direction which only adds to the vagueness of it. And thirdly, I didn't label my shots properly, which is more of a formatting issue really, but still incredibly important.
That is not to say I don't think I made a strong first effort, but it's clear I've got a lot to learn and I'm glad I can learn from this time around.
